THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM BY ANDREW GLASS AND SEAN LUNDQUIST
INTRODUCTION The digestive system is one of the biggest systems in the body it has ten organs in the whole system. It brakes down food and makes it in to sends it to the bladder and gets rid of what it doesn’t need.
ORGANS • Mouth • Esophagus • Liver • Stomach • Small Intestine • Large Intestine • Pancreas • Gall Bladder • Appendix • Rectum • Anus
HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS… The mouth chews the food with mechanical digestion where the food is chewed. Then it goes into the stomach where it performs chemical digestion.
HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS… Then the stomach releases enzymes into the food which starts the process of chemical digestion. Then it goes into the liver, and broken down into compounds and nutrients.
HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS… Then it goes pancreas. Then it goes into the small intestine where it is compacted together.
HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS… Then it goes into the large intestine and sits for a couple of days where it becomes brown. Then it goes through the rectum. Then it goes out the anus, where you get rid of all the waste.
INTERACTIONS WITH OTER SYSTEM It interacts very closely with the circulatory system to get the absorbed nutrients distributed through your body. It also works with the excretory system. While the digestive system collects and removes undigested solids, the excretory system filters compounds from the blood stream and collects them in urine.
FAVORITE WEBSITE It told us almost all the information we needed. We only had to go to a couple of websites to get more information. http://www.biology4kids.com/files/systems_main.html
