  2. Introduction It’s the perfect chance to finally eat healthy, get active and feel good about yourself! This year the Olympics are coming to London, and what better reason to get fit! The Small steps for life has been specifically designed to help you with your journey, you will even get your own challenge card to track your progress! Small steps works by encouraging you to sustain a balanced diet, exercise regularly and promoting a healthy wellbeing. It looks at your needs and offers a range of varied challenges and objectives to meet in order to you accomplishing your goal of being a fit and healthy person. Back

Olympic values- Determination With the Olympics' and Paralympics drawing closer, you can offer yourself an in sight into the world of the contestants, find out what qualities they all strive to have to ensure their success. One of the most significant of the values is determination, and is a skill required by everyone , not just athletes to do well in life. Eat healthily Breakfast is known to be the most important meal of the day and you should make every effort not to miss it, try to eat breakfast everyday, it will help you to concentrate more and feel better throughout the day. Try yummy foods such as muesli or porridge. Fruit is delicious and the perfect food to snack on. You should aim to eat at least 5 pieces a day but the more the better! Instead of a bag of crisps or a chocolate bar, try an apple or some grapes, your certain to feel good afterwards, and not as sluggish as you would have been if you had indulged on those every so tasty treats. Drink Water, water is one of the best things for your body. Aim to drink an achievable amount each day, and increase the amount as you go on. It is crucial to maintain a balanced diet , ensuring this will have a positive effect on your health. There are 3 main things you should include in your day *breakfast *plenty of water *and fruit Pick one of these to focus on achieving.   5. Get active There's no point in having a healthy diet if you sit around all day. You need to exercise, get your heart pumping blood are your body and get active if you want to feel the full extent of al your hard work. Doing short simple yet effective exercises each day will add up and have positive implications on your health. 5 a week, pick 5 activities you would like to try. And set an achievable target for each, for example, walk 3 miles in an hour or dance non stop for 15mins. Your should aim to reach your target in your final week by doing one of these activities on each day. Run, Find somewhere where you can run fast, mark out a distance and run between 2 points. See how many times you can run between them in a specific time limit. Walk, walk everywhere, instead of taking the bus, or taking the lift, walk to where you need to go. It may not always seem worth it, but each step adds up! Try using a pedometer to track your progress and set yourself a target to walk 1000 steps each day. Pick one of these to focus on achieving.
