  2. geography geography • The country of Egypt is located in the north eastern region of Africa. • It is bordered on the north by the Mediterranean sea. • One of the most important features of the Nile is that it makes 320 km (200 miles)

  3. Religion • The Egyptians had as many as 2000 gods and goddesses. • They used animals and people to create gods and goddesses . • Osiris was the god of the underworld . • Aman-ra the sun god and lord of the universe.

  4. Clothing All clothes were almost always made of linen which is made out of flax. Colours were applied by brushing paint on the cloth. On religious occasions they wore white which meant purity and holiness.

  5. PYRAMIDS • The most famous pyramids are the three in Giza. • The Egyptians believed their pharaoh was a living god ,and they built pyramids as their memorial tombs. • The first pyramid probably the first large stone structure in human history.

  6. education • Not many girls and boys went to school in ancient Egypt. • Most boys and girls who came from rich families went to scribal school. • The subjects taught at school were reading ,writing and arithmetic.

  7. jobs • The pharoh got rich peasents to do the farm work on the rich lands. • Most villagers were farmers. • Akhet – the inundation ( June-Sept) the flooding season. • Peret (Oct-Feb) the growing season. • Shema (Mar-May) the harvest season.

  8. farming • You were able to afford a few animals such as goats, pigs ,cows and geese. • Animals were a very important part of farming. • Animals helped you with jobs like trampling on seeds, pulling the plow, and eating unwanted grain or wheat

  9. government • Every civilization was built on rules and regulations. • The type of government in Egypt is a theocracy • Government was dominated by a single man the Pharoah.
