Personal Life • Aristotle was born in 384 BC in Stagira • He was an ancient Greek philosopher • At the age of seventeen, he went to Athens to study at Plato’s Academy • He opened his own philosophical school called Lyceum • Aristotle died in 322 BC

Major Scientific contributions • Scientific method • Physics: examined nature of matter, space, time and motion • Cosmology: all things fall toward the centre of earth or move around the earth
