How SLC500 Communicates with 1747-SDN
  • Two methods used
    • I/O Transfer
      • 1747 occupies 32 Input Words and 32 Output Words
        • 1 word of input, 1 word of output used for module status and command
        • 62 words available for devices
      • Intended for devices transmitting small blocks of information
        • Proximity and Photoelectric Switches
        • “Slice” I/O
        • Valves

How SLC 500 Communicates to 1747-SDN
  • Block Transfer via M0/M1 Files
    • M0 File
      • 150 Words of data used for output to network devices (M0:1.0-M0:1.149)
      • 74 Words Reserved/Unused (M0:1.150-M0:1.223)

how mlc 9000 communicates with 1747 sdn
How MLC 9000 Communicates with 1747-SDN
  • MLC 9000 Gateway
    • Converts DeviceNet Messages from Scanner into Modbus Messages to Bus Control Module
  • Uses Polled Messaging for Implicit I/O Connection
    • One Loop Control Module takes up 16 Bytes of Input and 6 Bytes of Output
  • Uses Explicit Messaging to gain access to parameters not supported through implicit connection
