  5. Metro • MLC Marlins Swim Team finished 10th at the Winter Metro Championships. The Marlins had two Metro Champions, Caitlin Sinclair and Te Haumi Maxwell • Caitlin Sinclair • Broke both the 100m and 200m Backstroke Metro records. Caitlin also broke 8 club records (50m, 100m and 200m Back, 50m, 100m and 200m Fly, 100m and 200m IM). • Te Haumi Maxwell • Broke the 50m Freestyle State record and finished 6th in the Open event. Te Haumi also set a Metro record in the 50m Butterfly, and won the 100m Freestyle, Backstroke and Butterfly. Te Haumi set 3 club records (50m Free, 500m and 100m Fly)

  6. Metro • Suay Toprak • Won Silver in the 400m IM and 200m Freestyle. Suay won Bronze in the 200m IM and 200m Butterfly. Suay broke a club record (200m Free) • Edward Marks • Won Bronze in the 100m Backstroke and 100m Freestyle. Edward also finished top ten in three other events • Michael Ajaka • Broke a club record in the 200m Breastroke • Top Ten: • Michael Ajaka, Bilal Dannaoui, Matthew Gu, Geoffrey Guo, Sarah Harnwell, Emily Klepac, Derek Leung, Cynthia Liang, Peter Totidis and Sarah Tuckerman

  7. State Open • MLC Marlins finished 9th with 7 swimmers and 7 relay teams competing at the meet. • Caitlin Sinclair • Won all three Backstroke events. Caitlin was also a member of the State squad that visited the AIS in Canberra for a training camp • Top Ten: • Michael Ajaka (6th 200m Breast), Suay Toprak (4th 400m Free, 4th 400m IM and 7th 200m Free), Te Haumi Maxwell (6th 50m Free), Melanie Tan (4th 50m and 100m Back) • Girls Open Freestyle relay: Ha-Yeon Lee, Melanie Tan, Caitlin Sinclair, Suay Toprak (6th)

  8. State Age • MLC Marlins came 11th overall. The team won 9 gold medals, broke 1 NSW record and 2 All comers records. 15 swimmers finished in the top ten and 14 club records were broken.

  9. State Age • Te Haumi Maxwell • Won gold in the 50m and 100m Freestyle, 100m Backstroke and 100m Butterfly. Te Haumi also broke the State record and All comers record in the 50m Freestyle and All comers record in the 100m Freestyle. • Caitlin Sinclair • Won 2 gold in the 100m and 200m Backstroke • Suay Toprak • Won gold in the 200m and 400m IM • Edward Marks • Won gold in the 100m Butterfly • Geoffrey Guo • Won his first state medal in the 50m Breaststroke

  10. State Age • Relay Success: • Bronze: Girls 18 & u Free (Caitlin Sinclair, Suay Toprak, Mel Tan, Ha-Yeon Lee) • Bronze: Boys 15 & u Free (Peter Totidis, Edward Marks, Bilal Dannaoui, Te Haumi Maxwell) • Bronze: Boys 15 & u Medley Relay (Te Haumi Maxwell, Alexander O’Hare, Edward Marks, Bilal Dannaoui) • 5 Relays finished in the top ten

  11. Individual Performances • Australian Youth Team • Te Haumi Maxwell • Represented the Australian youth team in the Trans Tasman competition series against New Zealand. Te Haumi set State records in the 50m and 100m Freestyle

  12. National Open • 3 MLC Marlins travelled to Hobart to compete in the National Open Short Course Championships. They were: • Te Haumi Maxwell, Michael Ajaka and Caitlin Sinclair • All swam personal best times • Caitlin made the 50m Backstroke final and 8th Australian 100m Backstroke

  13. National Age 2009 • NSW State Team • Caitlin Sinclair, Te Haumi Maxwell and Suay Toprak’s performances at State Age won them a place on the NSW State Team to compete in the National Age Championships in Canberra • The NSW team finished second to Queensland. • John Bladon was appointed one of the State Coaches • Te Haumi won the 50m Free, 7 Back Skins events and the 100m Freestyle • Caitlin Sinclair won the 100m & 200m Backstroke

  14. 8yr & under (Boys) 1st – Se Bom Lee • IM, Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke & Freestyle

  15. 8yo & under (Girls) 1st – Sarah Siqueira • IM, Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke & Freestyle

  16. 9yo (Boys) 1st – Isaac Haddo • IM & Freestyle Anthony Klepac • Breaststroke champion

  17. 9yo (Girls) 1st – Sarah Wellfare • IM, Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke & Freestyle 2nd – Carmen Ly and Lauren Vicario

  18. 10yo (Boys) 1st – Derek Leung • IM, Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke & Freestyle 2nd – Jason Qiu
