Who Benefits Most from Online/Hybrid Deliveries • Those unable to attend class at least half time • Persons serving in the Armed Forces • Those who are disabled • People who work rotating shifts • Those who live long distances from a physical campus • Lack of transportation – their own or public • Caretakers

  3. Challenges for Hybrid Delivery • Course must be adaptable • Students must work independently • Instruction accomplished in shorter period of class time • Assignments clearly stated on syllabus or weekly schedule

  4. Challenges for Online Delivery • Deliver course content that engages students • Address students questions in a timely manner • “Group” office hours or one-on-one additional instruction • Secure online testing

Tools to Aid with Transition • Respondus – a tool to create & manage quizzes and tests • Can be published directly to various learning systems • $1700/2500 students • StudyMate – a product by Respondus • Helps students "master the basics" of course material • Uses learning activities, self-assessments, and games • Comes with Respondus campus-wide license • Lock-Down Browser – another product by Respondus • Adds security during an assessment • Prevents students from printing, copying, going to another URL, or accessing other applications • Additional cost
