This proposal evaluates two potential career paths for an engineer with 10 years of experience and $100,000: becoming a consultant for small engineering firms or opening a vehicle repair shop in a local mall specializing in go-karts, dirt bikes, and bicycles. Researchers Brian and Evan will analyze the profitability of consulting and the financial viability of a repair shop. Data will be gathered through economic analysis and research into expenses and productivity over a 20-year timeframe, utilizing techniques from Chapter 5.
