  2. Desert • Location: Everywhere, AZ and Mexico, Sahara • Climate: Hot • Rainfall: 2cm • Animals: Snakes, Scorpions, Lizards, etc. • Plants: Cacti, Shrubs • Food Chain: Sun -> f=Flower -> Pika-> Jackrabbit -> Coyote

  3. Tundra • Location: North and South poles • Climate: Very Cold • Rainfall: 3cm • Animals: Polar bears, Penguins, • Plants: Lichen, Moss, fungus, etc. • Food Chain: Sun -> Grass -> Arctic Hare -> Arctic Fox -> Polar Bear • Fun Fact: The tundra is basically a frozen desert.

  4. Taiga • Location: Underneath the Tundra • Climate: Cold • Rainfall: 80-100 cm • Animals: Wolves, Caribou, Moose • Plants: Spruce and Evergreen trees • Food Chain: Sun -> Seeds -> Squirrel-> Fox -> Lynx

  5. Rainforest • Location: Equator • Climate: Humid • Rainfall: 200 cm • Animals: Jaguars, Monkeys, Toucans • Plants: Very thick tall trees and vines • Food Chain: Sun -> Grass -> Bugs -> Monkey -> Leopard • Fun Fact: Some of the biggest bugs in the world live in rainforests.

  6. Grassland/Savanna • Location: Africa • Climate: Hot • Rainfall: 50 cm • Animals: Hippos, Zebras, • Plants: Bushes and thick blades of grass • Food Chain: Sun -> Grass -> Field Mouse -> Weasel -> Hawk

  7. Temperate Deciduous Forest • Location: U.S. East Coast • Climate: Cool in the Summer • Rainfall: 100-150cm • Animals: Cougars, rabbits, deer • Plants: Dormant in the winter, Maple trees • Food Chain: Sun -> Nuts -> Squirrel-> Ringtail -> Bobcat

  8. Freshwater • Location: Rivers, lakes, ponds, and swamps • Animals: Alligators, ducks, frogs, bugs • Plants: Lilly pads, duckweed, cattails • Food Chain: Algae -> Blunt nose Minnow -> Bluegills -> Great Blue Heron

  9. Saltwater • Location: Oceans and Seas • Animals: Whales, shark, fish • Plants: Seaweed, plankton • Food Chain: Sun -> Kelp -> Sea Urchin -> Sea Otter -> Killer Whale • Fun Fact: More than 70% of the world is covered in water.
