Political Communications :----- • Originally, PC referred to the study of communication from a government to its electorate, and later to exchanges of political discourse between a governing majority and the opposition. Subsequently, the field was broadened to studies of the media’s role in forming public opinion, and then to the influence of opinion polls on politics. • Source: http://www.wolton.cnrs.fr/glossaire/gb_com_politic.htm

Some public relations specialists work as full-time employees of companies, politicians, nonprofit organizations, or governments; while others work for PR agencies or as freelance PR consultants that contract their services to clients (usually corporations , nonprofit organizations, wealthy individuals or other special interest ) who pay for their expertise at keeping them in or out of the spotlight, according to the client's wishes. ” Source:http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Public_relations PR : -------
