  1. Objective – Complete our Imperialism Panel Discussions with verve, insight, and intelligence • Agenda • Set up panel discussions • Panel Discussion 1 • Panel Discussion 2 • Reflection, if there is time March 5/6 – Panel Day

Get a piece of paper from the front Put your Country that you will represent and your name (it can be your real name or a fictional name of a member of their government) on the paper and fold it to make a nameplate that can sit on your desk Pull 10 desks to the front and face the classroom, and 5 desks facing them for the moderators First step

  3. For each panel • African and European Reps, you have 10 minutes to gather and decide if you have any opening statements you want to open the panel with • Moderators • You have 10 minutes to settle on your question order and who will be asking the questions Structure of the panel discussion

  4. If you choose to have an opening statement, your goal is to cover the overview of your perspective in 3 minutes or left • For Africa, what assistance would you like or what reparations would you want from Europeans for Imperialism • For Europeans, what assistance can you give or what reparations would you like to offer Opening statement

  5. Take your seat Opening statements Moderator Questions Closing statement Panel discussion

  6. Individually, write a reflection on the panel discussion. What did your preparation (for your individual piece) make your think about? How did the conversation go in your mind? What perspective or comments were most enlightening to your understanding of Imperialism. • This part of the project is individual work product. You must do your own work. Your writing will be submitted to turn-it-in.com and it will receive no credit if it is unjustifiably similar to the work of your group mates. Reflection
