  5. Properties of Water • Water has a boilingtemperature of 100 degreescelsius, and a freezingpoint of 0 degreescelsius. • Whenwaterfreezesitexpands, so it’svolumeischangingbutnotitsmass. Thismeansthat ice is LESS dense thanwater. Thisiswhy ice floats in water.
