Welcome to Ms. Johnson's Open House for 6th Grade Mathematics! With eight years of experience teaching middle school math and now in her fourth year at Central Magnet School, Ms. Johnson is excited to guide your child through an engaging and challenging curriculum. Stay informed with weekly homework from Monday to Thursday and Friday quizzes to reinforce learning. Remember to bring $2.00 for lock rental on Wednesday morning.   2. ABOUT MS. JOHNSON • Originally from Shelbyville, TN • Taught 7th & 8th grade mathematics for 8 years at Christiana Middle School • Fourth year teaching 6th grade math at Central Magnet School • Co-sponsor of Chi Alpha Mu • Asst. Coach of Middle School Volleyball

  3. Locks & Lockers will be assigned on Wednesday morning. Bring $2.00 for lock rental Students may take the lock home and practice unlocking it! 

Class Procedures • Homework will usually be given Monday-Thursday. • Your student should be doing math homework almost every night! • A quiz will be given each Friday to review the material from the week. • Quizzes and tests may be retaken (and I’ll accept the higher grade) if remediation is completed beforehand.

  8. Calculator of Preference: Students are not required to purchase a calculator. Although we don’t use a calculator frequently, if students would like to use the same type at home as we will in class, this is the one we will be using: TI 30XS Multiview
