  1. Easy Ways to Keep Your Mouth Healthy

  2. Keep Your Mouth Healthy • Small habits can go a long way to keeping your mouth healthy for a lifetime. Good dental care practices also help you avoid complex dental procedures, and hence reduce your dental costs too. • If you have kids, start introducing them to dental care as early as possible. If the little ones see that you’re committed to your dental care habits, chances are they’ll also do the same that because kids love imitating what adults around them do.

  3. Here are Easy Ways to Keep your Mouth Healthy:

  4. Brush Before Sleeping at Night • If it’s hard to brush your teeth during the day as you’re always on the go, be sure to brush before sleeping at night. • Of course it helps a lot to brush at least twice daily, but if there are times you can’t, at least drink water more often and avoid food that sticks to the teeth. • When you brush, cover all tooth areas, including the back areas.

  5. Clean Your Tongue Too • While brushing your teeth, also clean your tongue. The tongue makes for an ideal breeding ground for bacteria as it has a rough, uneven surface. • Brushing your tongue regularly will also help you avoid bad breath. The food debris and bacteria that linger on the tongue can cause an unpleasant odor.

  6. Floss Daily • Flossing complements brushing. Both should be done properly to increase their effectiveness. • When you floss, you remove debris in areas that your brush will not be able to. You’re able to clean below the gum lines and tight spaces between teeth. • If you find the conventional floss hard to use, try the dental floss picks.

  7. Use a Mouthrinse • But don’t just use any type of mouthrinse you’ll find at the drugstore. Look for products that are recommended or approved by local dental organizations. • A mouth rinse does not offer a permanent solution to mouth issues, but it can help keep the mouth clean and healthy. • You may also talk to your dentist about brands they recommend for your specific needs.

  8. Drink More Water • You may have heard it over again, but it’s true that water is the safest drink for your mouth. • It does not leave behind residues, plus it also helps keep saliva flowing. • Drink water after every meal especially that you’ll still have to wait for at least 30 minutes before brushing.

  9. Watch What You Eat • Keeping watch of your diet is also beneficial for your oral health. Avoid too much of sugary food and drinks. • If you must, consume it during mealtimes. Be sure to include crunchy vegetables and fruits in your diet as they help clean the teeth the natural way. • If you want to minimize tooth staining, reduce or avoid intake of coffee, soda, colored juices, and tea.
