What Is the MRP? • The Management Reporting Portal (MRP) for Johns Hopkins Medicine is a one-stop solution for access to critical reporting within the Hopkins environment. • The goal of this portal is to provide efficient, intuitive access to powerful JHM Management reports and supporting systems such as SAP, KRONOS, Eclipsys, View Direct, MedVitals, and more.

  10. Logging In • You log into the MRP using your JHED ID and JHED Password.https://jhmportal.jhmi.edu • It is recommended that you use Internet Explorer version 6 when accessing the site.

  11. Access Error • If you do not have access to the site, you will see this screen: • Just click the Request Access button. • The JHHS Controller’s Office team will review your request and grant access.

  12. The MRP Homepage

  13. The MRP Homepage • On the homepage, there are direct links to the following systems: • SAP • Eclipsys • KRONOS • ViewDirect • MedVitals

  14. Four Main Parts of the MRP

  15. Top Menu Bar • The main sections of the site can be accessed from the top menu bar. • Currently, Financial Web Reports and SAP Gateway are available for end users. • Workforce Dashboard and Decision Support links are coming soon.

  16. Financial Web Reports (FWR)

  17. Financial Web Reports • Financial Web Reports (FWR) is a document management and records center, offering a central repository. • Financial Web Reports houses static reports from affiliates, including the JHH and JHBMC hospitals. • Reports are uploaded by the JHHS Controller’s Office and JHH and JHBMC Finance staff. • Report Categories include: • Financial Statements • Contribution Margin • Patient Statistics

  18. Financial Web Reports

  19. Financial Web Reports Health System menu Select a Role menu

  20. Financial Web Reports If you select a role, you’ll be provided with a list of the reports that are often used by people in with that role.

  21. Accessing a Report

  22. Accessing a Report

  23. Accessing a Report Data in the FWR is sorted by Report Type, then Fiscal Year and Frequency of Report.

  24. Accessing a Report Reports can be grouped in many different ways. Here, they are grouped by Report Title. Simply click one of these groupings to view associated reports.

  25. Accessing a Report Here is a snapshot of the “Admissions and Patient Days” reporting. Click one of the PDF icons to open a report.

  26. Current and Future Uses • Currently JHHS uses the FWR site for static report posting. • JHHS is talking with the JHU Controller’s Office about expanding the selection to include JHU Sponsored reports. • If you feel you need access to the FWR site, email Finance@jhmi.edu

  27. SAP Gateway

  28. SAP Gateway

  29. SAP Gateway – Templates • On the SAP Gateway, there are two sets of BW templates: • Controller’s Office templates • Department Specific templates

  30. SAP Gateway – Templates • All templates on the SAP Gateway will open a preformatted BW report. • If you have access to the SAP Gateway, then there is no need to log into SAP again to run the reports. • Users are taken to the Variable Screen for each report so all variables can be configured by the user – the only thing that is formatted is the appearance of data in the report.

  31. SAP Gateway – Related Links • There is also a Related Links section. These include links to training materials, like Fast Facts and other training specific to JHHS.

  32. SAP Gateway – Support • There will be some support features in the SAP Gateway: • Live Chat – In the fall of 2008, Johns Hopkins Medicine Center for Information Services (JHMCIS) will install a chat feature that allows users to contact an SAP support person within Hopkins. • Submit an Issue – This is an online form that you can complete to report your issue to the Health System Controller’s Office.

  33. SAP Gateway – Searches • There are three basic searches currently available on the SAP Gateway: • View Your Roles – This will give you a list of all the SAP roles you currently have. • Get Roles – This search will let you look for the technical role name attached to an SAP role. • Get Transaction Codes – This will look up Transaction codes found in R/3 and display the roles equated with them.

  34. SAP Gateway – My Roles Here is a look at “My Roles.” The SAP Gateway will display all your currently held roles.

  35. SAP Gateway – Get Roles This is the “Get Roles” search. You type in a keyword and the system returns all roles with that word in the description.

  36. SAP Gateway – T-Code Search This is the “Transaction Codes” search. You type in a transaction code and the system returns all roles that have access to that code.

  37. MRP Help

  38. User Help • On each main page of the Management Reporting Portal, there are two help links.

  39. Live Demos • Live demos of the MRP will be available at the following dates and times: • Location: Tilghman Auditorium • Session: #T1 – August 14th 3 - 4:30pm • Session: #T2 – August 28th 3 – 4:30pm • Location: Carroll Auditorium • Session: #C1 – August 13th 9 – 10:30am • Session: #C2 – August 26th 3 – 4:30pm To register for a session, please email Finance@jhmi.edu

  40. Conclusion • The Management Reporting Portal is meant to aid Hopkins Medicine staff by providing both static and dynamic reports. • FWR can be utilized by many different departments throughout Hopkins for static reporting needs. • SAP Gateway provides fast and easy searches of SAP related material. • Ultimately, the MRP will be as powerful as users want it to be.

  41. Q&A • We’re going to open the phone lines now! • There will be a slight pause, and then a recorded voice will provide instructions on how to ask questions over this conference call line. • We’ll be answering questions in the order that we receive them. • We’ll also be answering the questions that were emailed to us during the presentation. • If there’s a question that we can’t answer, we’ll do some research after this session, and then email the answer to all participants.
