  3. Working With Freelancers • Different skills of freelancers • Web designers • Web builders • Flash designers • Flash developers • How to book (what to include in request to Odona) • Webplan • Workback schedule • Sales deck

Communication Key PointsFreelancers • Enter dates into basecamp under “TO-DO”, not “Dates” so that you can check them off • Phone call with individual freelancers • Before the call, post necessary info for the call – Webcopy, brief, and ftp info for the elements • Cal should be included in the call to go over the projects. He will provide creative direction; PMs to provide project details • After the all, post a summary of the discussion – Upcoming milestones, creative direction, etc. • Every freelancer is different – You may need to communicate by phone, by Basecamp, and/or provide visuals • Always document in Basecamp

  5. Feedback • Relevant information – Send information that only they need to know about • Active verbs – TELL freelancers what they need to do; not what needs to be done….but be nice • Consolidate – Try to provide feedback from all stakeholders

  6. Communication Key PointsClients • Terminology list sent with element request form (attached example) • Walk clients through our process, next steps • Ideally mention “approval” first, then “feedback”
