  2. Students of the Week • SENIOR: • Senior Ismael Chavez demonstrates the core value of responsibility. He works very hard to keep his grades up stay focused on graduation. • JUNIOR: • Junior Anthony Rodriguez demonstrates the core value of kindness. He is very friendly is always willing to help others. • SOPHOMORE: • Sophomore Alex Ramos demonstrates the core values of kindness and responsibility. He is always willing to help other students, groups, or teachers when in need. • FRESHMAN: • Freshman Itzel Hernandez demonstrates the core value of desire. Even when things get hard she fights through to reach her goals.

  4. College Visits • Make sure you… • Complete a request for college absence form at least 3 days prior to absence • Have your request approved • RETURN your signed request for college absence form with your college brochure • Without each of these steps your absences will be unexcused.

  5. Senior Pictures Only 56/80 of our seniors have had their picture taken by Sam Hollis. If you are wanting your senior picture to be in the yearbook you have to get that taken care of. Remember: You do not have to pay for the Basic Yearbook Sitting. Call Sam Hollis at 684-4343 and book your senior photo session today!

  6. Leaving School Before 4:10? You MUST… Senior, Juniors, and Sophomores: YOU must sign out in the office & have a parent call Freshman: Your parent is to meet you in the front office and your parent must sign you out. If your parent forgets to sign you out then YOU must sign out and then have a parent call the office. You are responsible for being signed out of school. Any student who does not sign out in the front office prior to leaving campus will serve lunch detention upon return.

  7. Book Club Book Club has chosen to read Unwind by Neal Shusterman. We will meet Thursday, 10/18 at lunch to discuss the first 1/4 of the novel. If you want to join Book Club in reading this novel, please get a copy of Unwind and read the first 1/4 of the novel by next Thursday.

UIL Academic Teams • ECHS@MC will be competing in UIL Academic Contests next spring at the District 2-5A UIL Academic Meet. • Any grade level may compete • For more information and a complete list of available events that students may compete in is available in Mr. Holik’s room • For more information please speak with Mr. Holik in room #112 Mark this in your planner. This is the last week for this to be posted on the announcements!
