Recent Public Comment Proposals Proposal to Modify ABO Determination, Reporting, and Verification • Significant Post-Public Comment Changes: • OPO Organ Recovery Verification: Limit verification to cases “when the intended recipient is known” to align with CMS • OPO Deceased Donor Blood Type Determination: Eliminate one blood draw, two labs option for deceased donor blood determination to align with CMS • Style changes: Verification requirements put in separate sections (OPO, Transplant Hospital, and Living Donor Recovery Hospital). • Board review November 2014

Develop Process for Review and Sharing of Safety Data • Continued review of safety situation reports • Report results available on OPTN website and Transplant Pro • Enhancements to the Improving Patient Safety Portal (Patient Safety Situations) • Will provide data on organs not recovered, increased cold ischemic time (CIT) and organ discards • Working with MPSC to receive education topic referrals routinely
