  2. Spelling and Grammar Checking • Shown as- • Spelling errors: red wavy line • Grammar errors: green wavy line Ignore the word once Ignore the “misspelled” word throughout the document Add the word to the dictionary so it doesn’t show up as misspelled again

  3. Spelling and Grammar Checking, cont. Change the misspelled word to the selected new spelling. Change all instances of the misspelled word to the selected new spelling. Automatically change all instances of the misspelled word to the selected new spelling when the mistake is made.

  4. Spelling and Grammar Checking • Right click spelling or grammar errors to see options.

  5. Translating Text • Review Tab  Proofing Group  Reference Button • Type the phrase that you want to translate  Select “Translate” from the dropdown box

  6. Using the Thesaurus • Used to provide synonyms for a word. • Found- • In the Proofing group on the Review tab • By right clicking on a word

  7. Navigating to Specific Content • Find and Replace • Wildcard Characters • ? Represents a single character • * Represents any number of characters • Can search for and replace text or formatting • Found in Editing group on the Home tab

  8. Creating Autocorrect Entries and Exceptions • Under the File tab, click Options • Click on Proofing and AutoCorrect Options • Add Entries by typing them in the table, click on Exceptions to make exceptions

  9. Inserting the Date and Time • Go to the Insert Tab  Date and Time • Checking “Update Automatically” means that the date will always be current

  10. Inserting Special Characters • These are characters that do not appear on the keyboard • Insert by going to the Insert tab and clicking on Symbol in the Symbols group.
