  2. MY CHURCH • Eph. 5:23 – Jesus is the “head”. • Eph. 5:23 – Jesus is the Savior. • I Cor. 3:11 – Jesus is the foundation. • Acts 20:28 – Jesus is the purchaser, owner.

  3. Our Privilege • To be members, “added” – Acts 2:47 • Equal to each other in all aspects – Matt. 23:8 • Workers together with the Lord – 2 Cor. 6:1

  4. Misconceptions, Misunderstandings • The church is the building. No, and yes – I Peter 2:5, 9; I Cor. 3:9 • An organization. No, and yes. An organism. Not equal with Boy/Girl Scouts, Rotary, etc. • Includes all “religious” people – Jesus in the first century, came to establish HIS church. • The ruler – Pope, president, etc. Or, “Reason”, “feelings, “conscience”.

  5. The Real Authority • Matt. 28:18; Acts 2:4 • Many false “authorities”: Councils, tradition, creeds, majority, ancestors • I Peter 4:11 • Exalts Christ – Col. 1:18 • Unity found only here – I Cor. 1:10

  6. A Unique… • Worship – sing, pray, teach, Lord’s supper, contribution. • Plan of salvation – “What does the Bible say?” – Faith, repentance, confession, baptism, a “new” life
