  3. Review about 3 Kingdoms • Sunquan-Wu Kingdom • Liubei- Shu Kingdom • Caoca0- Wei Kingdom

  4. Sima Yan (Emperor Wu) • In 265, he overthrows Cao emperor (Wei), and starts W. Jin Dynasty. • He unifies China in 280 by defeating Wu Kingdom. • He had 10,000 concubines!

  5. Chaos…… Only 10 years passed from the time China was quite peaceful……

  6. Sima Yan dies, and 8 princes fights to become the Emperor. They fight for 15 years.

  7. 8 princes are…… Sima Liang Sima Wei

  8. AND…… SimaLun SimaJiong

  9. AND…… Sima Ai Sima Ying

  10. AND…… Sima Yong SimaYue

  11. SimaYue is the winner!

  12. Problem again! Because of 15 years civil war, Jin Dynasty grows weaker. Xiongnu find out the weakness……

  14. Result First capital Luoyang was captured in 311 A.D. Second capital Chang’an was captured in 316 A.D.

  15. It shocks Chinese Society. Now, there is Eastern Jin Dynasty.

  16. Eastern Jin Dynasty • 317-420 A.D.

  17. They had Nanjing as capital. They were in south of Huai River.

  18. During this time period, there were 16 kingdoms. (North!) 5 Hu’s were ruling over China. (Xiongnu , Xianbei, Di, Qiang, Jie)
