Terms • RDA – Recommended Dietary Allowance: "the average daily dietary intake level that is sufficient to meet the nutrient requirements of nearly all healthy individuals". • Nutrient Density – the amount of nutrients a food provides in comparison with the number of calories it provides • Empty calories

  4. Terms • Portion Size – a "portion" is the amount of food you choose to eat for meals or snacks • Serving Size – a "serving" is the amount of food that experts recommend you eat
