3. What is the Canadian Health Network? CHN is a national bilingual health information project, funded by Health Canada, that focuses on providing access to web-based information on health promotion and disease prevention.

4. What can you find on the CHN website? Authoritative Canadian health information in both official languages Full-text access to over 10,000 pamphlets, fact sheets & other resources on health promotion & disease prevention Links to over 650 health organizations from across Canada

5. What do CHN partners have in common? • they are all not-for-profit and all credible. • they are all Canadian • each organization is involved in some aspect of health information research or service delivery • every organization has a web page presence

Combining Search Terms Using the A to Z Search • Search for up to 5 topics at once. • Combine terms using the Search Options buttons: • All the Terms: to find 2 or more search terms in the same document. • Example: Osteoporosis Exercise • Any of the Terms: to find all documents that contain even 1 of the search terms entered. • Example: Tai Chi Yoga

27. Search the A to Z for Proteins or Carbohydrates • Click on the letters of the alphabet to locate and select the terms Protein & Carbohydrates. Both should appear in the green Search Box. • Click on the Any of the Terms search option button to search for resources on any one of the topics listed. • Click on the green Search button to find these resources.

When to use the Keyword Search Engine • The keyword search engine searches CHN document subject headings, titles of documents & annotations that describe their content, to find documents that match your search terms. • Use the search engine when you can’t locate a topic in the AtoZ index, or if you want to build a more specific search than the AtoZ index will allow.
