  1. My Actor’s Scrapbook2011 Starring: Maddison Hodder

  2. When I come into the theatre I get a sense of security. I love an audience. I love people, and I act because I like trying to give pleasure to people.  -- Vivien Leigh INTRODUCTION • Hello, my name is Maddison and I am an actress in the making. I’ve been singing, dancing and acting my whole life and I’ve developed a passion for it throughout all the productions I’ve been in. I really hope to develop my acting abilities through tableaus, physical theatre, writing my own plays and just simply working with my other actors. I am thinking about becoming a professional actor and hopefully one day I will make it onto Broadway!

  3. Straw tower reflection What did you find challenging about not being able to use verbal communication? I couldn’t really understand a lot of what my group members were saying because I’m so used to understanding people easily via words and it was a effort to decipher what people were trying to communicate. Other methods of communication that we used were : Gestures to objects and/or people, miming and we mouthed words to each other. I also think that using other methods of communication was difficult because people don’t explore with other ways of communicating and we use the simplest and easiest form, talking. I think the most frustrating part of this exercise was not being able to understand each other and. The most refreshing part of it was the silence. I personally believe that silence is golden and when it’s silent, it’s very relaxing for me.

  4. I’m sure it was challenging not having any tools, such as tape, to help you build your tower. What are some of the building strategies you used to create your tower? We decided to tie the straws together to take the place of tape, and we also connected them to make them stronger and more stable. Did you find that in your group each person began to take on a different role as you worked through your challenge? What were some of the different roles people assumed? Why do you think it happened? Kelsey and I connected the straws and Hailey and Lehony assembled the tower. We all took on different roles based on what we were comfortable with.

  5. What did your final result look like? Do you think this challenge was really about the product? What do you think was my objective giving you this assignment? Our final result was small but at least it stood, and it was made up of squares tied together with other straws. I don’t think this was about the product, I think it was more about working together and practicing to use our bodies to communicate just like in acting. You need to use your body to portray the character, not just saying lines.

  6. THE COMIC STRIPS This comic strip relates to me in many ways. I absolutely adore dancing and acting like a fool with my family and friends. Most people say I am weird for even thinking of doing this in public but I love being weird and having fun! I don’t think being serious is a way of life because you should always have fun in life, it’s the only one that you get. Live everyday to the fullest and enjoy doing it!

  7. My cat, Midnight and I have a very strange bond. He is very much like Garfield (especially in this comic). Every time I talk about my boyfriend, Midnight seems to show up! He will look at me as if to say “What, I’m not good enough for you?” and then he’ll walk away from me. It’s extremely pathetic. Nevertheless, I adore my cat and I’m sure he adores me! … Sometimes.

  8. My siblings and I are very close but we are always tormenting and bugging each other. It’s extremely weird since my sister’s 26 years old and my brother’s 24 years old. I remember one time we were at the beach when I was younger, around 5-6 years old, and my brother was throwing my beach ball around. He accidentally threw it too far into the ocean and he couldn’t get it. I got SO mad at him I almost started crying. He didn’t even apologize he just laughed and started ate half a bag of chips. Sometimes siblings aren’t very nice, and they aren’t fair but I guess we have to love them 
