  14. FAQ Q: How many chances does a student have to pass the OGT? A: Five regular school year opportunities. Beginning with the Spring of the 10th grade year and testins in October and March of the 11th and 12th grade year. There are two additional Summer testing opportunities.

  15. FAQ Q: How long do students get to take the test? A: Students have up to two and one-half hours to take each of the subject area tests. MVHS will provide a late start for non-testing students during the week of March test administration.

  16. FAQ Q: What is the format of the OGT? A: The test is compiled of Multiple Choice, Written Short-Answer and Written Extended-Response questions. These questions are inter-mixed throughout the test.

  17. FAQ Q: My child has an IEP, what does that mean for the OGT? A: All students must take the OGT. Accommodations as defined by the individual’s IEP will be provided. Some students’ IEPs may require a form of Alternate Assessment.

  18. What parents can do at home? • Visit the ODE websites and familiarize yourself with previous OGT test questions. • Encourage your child to take the practice tests on-line. • Take the practice tests yourself. • Review test-taking tips with your child.

  19. What parents can do at home? • Support your child’s day-to-day academic efforts by staying on top of homework and attendance. • Communicate with your child’s teacher on a regular basis. • View Parent Access to Progressbook on a regular basis. https://parent.laca.org/General/District.aspx
