  4. 2014 The North Face 100 Hong Kong EVENT DETAILS • Event Date : Dec 13-14, 2014 • Categories : 50km and 100km • Event Venues : Tai Mei Tuk • Participants : Maximum 1200 for 2 categories

  9. Important race rules • No outside aid other than at checkpoints • 100% self-propelled even if part of a team (team qualification) • No short cutting • No littering • No support vehicles at CP9 • Use of trekking poles • Cut off times • Mandatory equipment

  10. Support team meet up • Individual race, but having support can help • CPs that provide easy access • Support limited to checkpoints only • No pacing • No providing of food/drinks outside the CP area

  12. Important dates and times • Race morning run down • Arrival time – 6:45 a.m. • Bag and drop bag check – 6:45 a.m. • Race start – 8:00 a.m. • Post race • HKFYG Tai Mei Tuk Outdoor Activities Centre • Food and Drink, Awards ceremony, Photo Area • Bradbury Jockey Club Youth Hostel – Showers

Equipment • Mandatory equipment and equipment checks • Rain Jacket • Mobile phone (with HK reception) • Headlamps/Torches • 100KM - Two Headlamps/torches (with replacement batteries) • 50KM – One headlamps/torches (with replacement batteries) • Whistle • At least 0.5 liters of water or sports drink(water bladder or water bottles) at start point • At least 300 calories worth of energy bars / food portions at start point • Race Bib • Emergency contact card (provided by race organizer)

  14. Equipment • Recommended equipment • Warm cap or hat • Extra clothing/shoes • Extra pair of socks • Sunglasses • Sun block or Sun Screen • Trekking poles • Adhesive elastic band for making a bandage or a strapping • Personal cup or tumbler • Some cash/ Octopus Card • Use of the CP 4 drop bag
