  2. Red for the bullfighters' blood on the sand of the bullfighting ring or red for the blood shed by Spaniards. Spain’s Flag Yellow for the Spanish sun.

  4. The Pyrenees mountains are located in the upper right corner • They work has a boundary between Spain and France. • The highest point is Aneto Peak, elevation 11,169 ft. • Spreads for 270 miles!!! Pyrenees MTS.

The population of Spain is approximately 40 million • Spain’s overall density is 206 people per square mile. • Spain is experiencing significant rural-urban migration with 78 percent of the population now living in towns and cities. • Madrid city has over 3 million alone!!! • Its population growth is .9% which means is a 110 it would about double. Population? population growth

  6. The main language of Spain is Spanish…DDUUUHHH!! • There are many dialects of their Spanish language Which Include; • Castilian, official • Catalan, co-official • Basque, co-official • Galician, co-official • Aragonese, unofficial • Aranese, co-official ¡Hola!

  7. Over 90 percent of Spain is of the Catholic religion. • The other religions are very small in percent. Religion

Conflict between Spain and Basque Region: • Violent campaign for independence from Spain in1968 • 800 died; 100s imprisoned • They have own language, religious practice, and culture. • They say a Basque man is nor a French or a Spaniard but a Basque. • Wink wink, cough cough, sniffle sniffle, sneeze sneeze/ you need to know this…. Bull running • July 7th-14th thousands pack into Pamplona to start Spain's most famous bull-running fiesta to honor Navarre capital's patron saint, San Fermin. • Tomato Throwing festival • Worlds biggest food fight • Plaza Del Pueblo in the small town of Buñol in eastern Spain. • Trucks come with around 125,000 kilos of ripe ammo • 11am to 1pm people turn the streets into a walking, talking bloody Mary. Culture

  10. Spain was originally inhabited by Celts and Basques. Spain became part of the Roman Empire around 200 BC. • In 711 the Muslim leader Tariq entered Spain from Africa and within a few years completely conquered the country. • Castile and Aragon were the most important European states from 1100 to 1400 they were combined by the marriage of Ferdinand II and Isabella I in 1469. History

In July of 1936, an army officer in Morocco, Francisco Franco Bahamonde, led a mutiny against Spain’s government. • The civil war that lasted almost three years and the death toll reached nearly a million!!! • The Civil war ended when Franco took Madrid on March 28 1939. • Franco then became the head of the state and the prime minister of the new country More History 

  12. The government of Spain is parliamentary monarchy • Spain is governed under their constitution of 1978 • They run off of the Euro • The prime minister is the head of Spain’s government. Government

Spain’s economic structure is mostly controlled by its servers and workers, which accounts for about 70% of its Gross Domestic Products(GPD). • Spain’s Structure is based mostly upon tourism • Spain’s tourism industry is the third largest in the world, next to France and the United States. • The industry contributes nearly 11% to the nation’s GDP, and is responsible for employing over 2,000,000 people in the Spain.   14. The Sierra Nevada National Park is a major tourist attraction. • ¡This park has one of the highest mountains on the peninsula with 15 of its peaks soaring above 3000 Meters! • The Tour De France attracts a lot of tourism for people to see the bikers finish their 3,741 kilometer race Tourism
