Prepositions. Words that connect a noun or pronoun to another word in a sentence. Prepositions. A preposition is anything that a squirrel can do to a tree. The squirrel was in the tree. The squirrel was on the tree. The squirrel was underneath the tree.

  6. The ball is inside the box.

  7. The man is behind the tree.

  8. The man is ontop of the world.

  9. Introductory Prepositional Phrases A phrase that begins with a preposition and ends with a noun or pronoun. A comma will follow an introductory prepositional phrase.

  10. Examples Under the pile of clothes, we found his wallet. Before we go to school, we have to eat breakfast.
