Getting vaccinated is the best way to achieve herd immunity. • It is how the pandemic that we have all had to deal with will end. • Of course, we are all trying our best to get vaccinated as soon as we can.
But there is much confusion about when we are allowed to or where COVID-19 vaccine clinics in Hawaii are. • By the time you've finished reading this article, you will know when and where you can get vaccinated. • And as the situation evolves you will be able to find new information to adjust yourself.
Hawaii's Vaccination Schedule: • The vaccination schedule in Hawaii is a four-part two-phase process. Phase 1A • The first phase consists of part A which includes healthcare personnel and long-term care facility residents. • Frontline workers like doctors, nurses, and other healthcare practitioners meet infected patients the most. • If we expect physicians, nurses, dentists, and everyone else who helps us to continue their good work, they must be among the first to get the vaccine.
Phase 1B • Part B of phase one is slightly more expanded and the current level of vaccination that COVID-19 clinics in Hawaii are accepting. • Phase 1B includes first responders, frontline essential workers, and adults 75 years and older. • First responders such as Firefighters and Police are now able to get vaccinated and should do so immediately. • Frontline essential workers are people essential to the functioning of society and are at higher risk of getting COVID-19. • The common factor among all the groups that are first in line to get vaccinated is their risk of infection.
Phase 1C • People in this group can expect to be vaccinated this spring 1. Adults between the ages of 65 and 74 2. People aged 16-64 if they have a high-risk medical condition 3. Essential workers not previously included. • There is a constant prioritization for high-risk people as COVID-19 vaccine clinics in Ko Olina and all over Hawaii attempt to accommodate as many as possible. • If you have a condition that compromises the immune system or some other complication, it is worth checking if you may receive the vaccine.
Phase 2 • This phase is the final phase of vaccination in Hawaii, and everyone 16 years and above can be immunized. • Once phase 2 is reached up to 75% of the population can be vaccinated. • The completion of this phase means nearly everyone is vaccinated and herd immunity may be achieved.
There has not been enough testing yet to vaccinate children under 16 years. • Therefore, children are not scheduled to receive any vaccination as of yet. • Thankfully, children are the least likely to get infected with seriously threatening symptoms. • Everyone must do their part to get vaccinated as soon as they can. • Of course, if you miss your group, you may still get vaccinated during the next part of the phase and absolutely should. • All those administering vaccines like the frontline health care workers at COVID-19 clinics in Ko Olina, Pearl City, Waikiki, and more would be delighted to give you your vaccination.
