The oldest university in the province, the University of British Columbia (UBC) is one of the most competitive universities in Canada. It is secular in nature as well. McMaster University is situated in Hamilton, Ontario. They have made the prime campus on 121 hectares of land which is near the Hamilton's Royal Botanical Gardens. The university got its name from William McMaster, a distinguished Senator from Canada and banker who gave C$900,000 to the making of the institution
Montreal is a place which has a lot of universities one of them being the University of Montreal is the second largest university in terms of student numbers, with more than 37,000 students who have taken admission. They have alluded a lot of international students from quite of some time.
The University of Montreal’s main campus is on the ramp of Mount Royal. The landmark tower was built in the Art Deco style in the 20th century.
The University of Alberta is said to be a public search university which is on the edge of Montreal. Its main campus extends to 50 blocks of the city, and the university comprises a total of 150 buildings spread over four campuses.

It has its roots from the Séminaire de Quebec, established during French oppression in Canada in 1663, Laval University – or Université Laval – did not get full university status until it was contracted a royal charter by Queen Victoria in 1852. This crafted it the first Francophone university on the North American continent. Based in Quebec City, it set up a dispersed campus in Montreal in 1878, though this later separated off as the Université de Montréal in 1919.
