Criteria for Fast Track Designation (Courtesy: FDA) To qualify for Fast Track designation, a drug must meet two main criteria: • Serious Condition: The drug has to be for the treatment of a genuine ailment, for instance, cancer, AIDS, Alzheimer’s disease, or heart failure. • Unmet Medical Need: That is, it has to fulfil a therapeutic niche, either by being the only treatment for a particular disease or dramatically improve on existing problem.
