Summer school 2007. Cookery. In cookery we made pizzas to help give us our 5-a-day. We learned that we should each eat five fruit and vegetables a day to help us keep healthy. We should eat a balanced diet, but not to much fatty foods. Dance.

  1. Summer school 2007

  2. Cookery • In cookery we made pizzas to help give us our 5-a-day. We learned that we should each eat five fruit and vegetables a day to help us keep healthy. We should eat a balanced diet, but not to much fatty foods.

  3. Dance • On Monday we did dance with Miss Starkey, we started off playing follow the leader, then we had to get into pairs with people that we didn’t know and the two pairs had to get together and produce a dance by combining the dance we did with our partner and making some still scenes and then making another dance up in our group of four.

  4. Music • On Monday we did music with Miss Peers and we sang a song called I’m a scary skeleton and then we used the keyboards and played a song called Dem Bones then we got into a group of four and two of us played the music and the other two sang it and did the dance.

  5. Team Building • On Monday we did team building with Mr Sykes and we built bridges out of newspaper that had to hold a tin, a stapler, two hole punchers and a small box. Also it had to be able to sail a box underneath.

  6. Greek • On Tuesday we did Greek with Mr Walker and we learnt how to say a few basic things and we also learnt the Greek numbers , then we went on a website that helped us to learn more about how they say things.

  7. I.C.T • In I.C.T we had Mrs Wyatt and some of us made a PowerPoint presentation to go on a website.

  8. Face painting • On Wednesday in the first week we had to get into pairs and paint each others faces!

  9. Time detective • On Wednesday in the first week we had to try and find a reason for somebody dieing. We were given a few clues!

  10. Artist workshop • On Wednesday in the first week we did an artist workshop and we were given a picture and had to copy it onto a piece of wood to be a big picture to put up in the sixth form block for our parents to see on Thursday

  11. Taekwondo • On Thursday in the first week we did taekwondo with Mr. Bellanfante and we learned to do some of the kicks.

  12. Hebden Bridge • On Friday we went to the alternative technology centre in hebden bridge we made notepads out of recycled black bin bags we went in the mini-bus there and then walked back by the canal.

  13. Cycle safety training • On Friday we did cycle safety training and we had to go round the course and then race each other round the course!

  14. Gymnastics and the Climbing wall • On Monday in the second week we did gymnastics and went on the climbing wall. In gymnastics we used a lot of gym equipment including gym horses and thick mats.

  15. Cookery On Monday in the second week we made mini quiches and cheese straws for our parents to eat when the come to look at our work on Thursday.

  16. Maths challenge • On Monday in the second week we did a maths challenge. We started off making code wheels and then we went on to do the challenge!

  17. Mixendon outdoor centre • On Tuesday in the second week we went to Mixendon outdoor centre in Halifax we did canoeing, kayaking, climbing and mountain biking.

  18. Debating • On Wednesday in the second week we did debating. We had to think of things that we could put in a hebden bridge museum for eleven year olds.
