Parent Teach Organization (PTO) • Thursday, Sept. 12th at 6:30 in the OPLC Library LAST PTO MEETING UNLESS… • People come forth to form a new PTO board and volunteers participate in sub committees • What does the PTO do for our children? Reading Incentive Day Graduation Hats Spring Fair Assemblies Classroom Gifts & Books

  4. Maximizing Opportunities for Success Where do we want to be? • First Grade • Phonetic Skills • DRA Level 16-18 • Benchmark • Comprehension • Second Grade • Phonetic Skills • DRA Level 28-30 • Benchmark • Comprehension • Kindergarten • DRA Level 3-8 • Nonsense Word Fluency • Benchmark

  5. "READ-EO” • Start Date October 1st • Minutes Per Night • 10 minutes for kindergarten • 15 minutes for 1st grade • 20 minutes for 2nd grade • 20 days each month • Logs get turned in or submitted at the end of each month • Reading Incentive Day – Kindergarten June 2nd • 1st & 2nd June 3rd

  14. Opportunities for Success • Daily point given for being on green. • When child meets monthly goal they may choose from Prize Patrol • Students who do not meet the monthly behavior goal will still receive a point for each green day earned to use for incentives.
