Welcome Back! Spanish 2- New YOU!
Rules and Reminders • Class time is for learning, not for • Eating • Playing games • Socializing • Hair brushing • Dancing • Texting
New Policies • iPad misuse binder • When caught off-task on ipad, students will enter the dateand their initials into their spot in the ipad misuse binder • After 4 misuses, students will come in during lunch and call parents to tell them.
iPad Misuses include • Games • iMessaging • Inappropriate picture taking • Snapchat, selfies, instagram, vine • Music (when not given permission) • APPs that are not school related • ANY off task usage.
Deadlines I will begin taking deadlines very seriously this quarter. One day late means 10% off. No excuses will be accepted. After the 5 days, I will no longer take late work.
Disrespectful/ Unkind behavior • From now on, each student will be graded on respectfulness and kindness. Every week every one will start out with 5 points (1 point per day). If you are disrespectful or unkind to others you will lose your 1 point for the day. Then you will write an “incident report” so it is logged why you didn’t receive your point and there is never any questions asked. • If you are always kind and respectful, this is an easy opportunity for points. • ** REMEMBER classwork and participation points are 60% of your grade. (there are around 18 wksthis semester. 18 x 5 pts per wk = 90 points.
Three Strikes Policy Students will receive strikes for rule breaking or off-task behavior -Strike 1: Verbal warning/ calling name -Strike 2: Verbal warning 2/individual meeting or name on board. -Strike 3: Lunch detention, which could be scraping gum, cleaning desks, sweeping, or cleaning the cafeteria -Strike 4: Bus cleaning duty, write-up, or call home
Don’t be discouraged! • IT’s REALLY NOT THAT BAD! • Just be engaged, prepared, on task, respectful and kind… EASY – PEEZY.
Spanish 1 is over! Let’s buckle down and work hard this quarter in Spanish 2. I believe in you!
