  7. DAILY SCHEDULE Our day rotates on an A/B day schedule. The Day is announced during the morning announcements. Be sure you know which day you have PE so you bring the appropriate clothing or swim attire. Classes are 40 minutes long. Students have 3 minutes between each class.

  8. DAILY SCHEDULE continued… The warning bell signaling the start of Advisory period rings at 7:30 am. You have 5 minutes to get to your Advisory period. Advisory period officially starts at 7:35 am. All students must be in class at this time. Homeroom is included in Advisory. Attendance is taken Morning announcements If you enter school late, you must sign in at the Main Office.

RESPONSE TO INTERVENTION What is RTI? • Builds necessary skills for students to be successful • Provides interventions for students • Monitors student’s progress • Parents will receive quarterly progress on their students. RTI has not been scheduled yet. Student’s schedules could change. Students will receive another schedule the first day of classes.

  11. How To Be Successful All students will be provided supplies by the school district. Use a book bag to and from school. Book bags have to be in student’s locker during the school day. Write down assignments each day for each class. Students can use a small notebook to write down assignments. Make sure everything has a place. Keep your locker organized!!!

  12. How To Be Successful • Get your book bag & supplies ready the night before • Get enough sleep: 8-10 hrs. per night • Set an alarm clock • Eat healthy & drink lots of water

  13. HARD WORK = SUCCESS Always do your best and show your teachers that you care about your work. Stay organized, pay close attention in class, and complete all required homework assignments. These are the ingredients for an OUTSTANDING year!

  14. ALWAYS BE CAREFUL Do not bring large amounts of money to school. Do not share your locker combination or computer password. Talk to a teacher, counselor, or principal before a small problem becomes a big one! Remember that physical contact is not allowed.

  15. RESOURCES Parent Portal and Student Portal: Parents and students can go to the school website and go to COMMUNITY>PARENT RESOURCES> PowerSchool Parents and Student Portals or http://www.salamancany.org/Page/982 Homework Assignments will be posted on PowerSchool. Parents and students can check Mrs. Eaton’s Homepage Class Page. Check Salamanca Webpage for events, calendar, staff directories, policies, district information, school newsletter, resources, menus, etc. www.salamancany.org Parents and Students can also follow Salamanca City Central School District on Facebook or Instagram.

  18. HOW DO YOU JOIN? Simply listen to the daily announcements! Advisors and coaches will announce all meetings or sign-up information. The Warrior Board in the Student Support Center will have the dates listed on their calendar.

  19. PROGRESS REPORTS/REPORT CARDS Progress Reports Issued 5 weeks into each quarter Report Cards Issued every 10 weeks Parents and Students can check daily on the Portal and this is highly encouraged!

  20. AFTER SCHOOL TIME Students may stay after school until 3:55 and ride the late bus home. Any student who stays after must be with a teacher or a coach. No one is allowed to remain unsupervised in the building. The teacher or coach will only issue a late bus pass at 3:55 p.m. The Extended Day Enrichment Program also provides a bus at 4:25 p.m. and 5:25 p.m. for students. You must stay with them the entire time if you are riding the bus home.

  21. HOMEWORK HELP Teachers will inform students when they will be staying after at the start of each week. Any student may attend, however, it is highly recommended for students failing any subject. Native American Tutoring is also available to Native American Students during Warrior Academy and after school. 21

  22. ELOC ELOC will be utilized for: All student athletes participating in sports, grades 7 – 12. All after school clubs, organizations, dances, and class trips. All students seeking any academic assistance. All students that miss class time due to tardiness to school or missing class time. Field Trips will be at the discretion of Mr. Siebert. ELOC will run Monday – Friday from 3:00-4:00.  An additional hour (4:00-5:00) will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  There will be two staff for ELOC every day.  Students can also stay with individual classroom teachers or the Native American tutors.  Coaches and advisors can also hold a team/group “study table” after school or on weekends.  Please email (before the end of the session) Gene Jankowski, Lynn Magiera, Chris Siebert and Lacey Hill the names of students who stayed as well as how long they stayed.Academic lists will be pulled and emailed to all staff and coaches every Wednesday at 1:00 PM.  It will be posted outside the Student Support Center by Thursday morning.  Students that are failing will have from Wednesday to Monday to raise their grades, submit work to their teacher(s), and get their grades to passing.  Students, advisors, and coaches should check the grade status every Wednesday on PowerSchool.  Mrs. Paschen will send Mr. Jankowski an updated list every Friday afternoon.  This is the list that will be used to determine student eligibility for Monday and the remainder of the week. Academic lists will run from Monday through Saturday.  Saturday contests will use that week’s student information.
