Testing the speed of a traxxes remote control cars.

NEED FOR SPEED. Testing the speed of a traxxes remote control cars. Big Question . Will a car go faster because of the gas you put in it? Will 20% nitro methane go faster then 10% nitro methane?. Hypothesis . My hypothesis is that 20% nitro methane will run faster then 10% nitro methane. .

  1. NEED FOR SPEED Testing the speed of a traxxes remote control cars.

  2. Big Question • Will a car go faster because of the gas you put in it? • Will 20% nitro methane go faster then 10% nitro methane?

  3. Hypothesis • My hypothesis is that 20% nitro methane will run faster then 10% nitro methane.

  4. Materials • 4 neon cones • Two traxxes remote control cars • A stopwatch • A broom • 20% nitro methane • 10% nitro methane

  5. Procedures • Step one you sweep the street with the broom, (watching for cars) • Step two put two of the neon cones on the side of the street that you are starting, then two on the side that you are going to finish on. There should be at least a hundred ft. between the four cones. • Step three you put the 10% nitro methane into the fl.oz. flued container in the traxxes remote controlled car. ( for this step parents/or garden have to put the gas into the traxxes) • Step four you put the traxxes where you decieded to start. • Step five you start the car and control it as it makes its way to the finish. • Step six when the traxxes crosses the finish line u stop the watch and write the time on a paper.

  6. Procedures continued • Step seven sweep the track with the broom. Make sure that the cones are lined up. ( for this step a parent or garden have to put the gas into the car) • Step eight put 20% nitro methane into the fl.oz. flued container in the traxxes. • Step nine line the car on where you decided to start. Turn on the traxxes and control it as it makes its way to the finish. • When it crosses the finish line stop the watch and write down the time. Compare the two times. Witch one is the winner?

  7. Control Varibles Is my 10% nitro methane gas Is my 20% nitro methane gas

  8. Observations I noticed that at first both stayed at the same pace. Then they started ganning speed as the went down the hill in the end 20% nitro meathane one bye a land slide

  9. Data 10% 20% The more nitro the faster it will run • The less nitro it has the slower it will run.

  10. Analysis of Data • A- yes it did but it didn’t prove it right. • B- I know that it tested my hypothesis because more nitro usaully equals better speed.

  11. Conclusion • Yes, my hypothesis was correct • I would make the race track bigger. • If the race time was extended would 10% return into the lead?

  13. Fun facts • The oxygen in nitro meathane’s molecular structure means that it doesn’t need as much atmospheric oxygen. • Usually it travels 70 mph or more. • This car is a 1:10 scale of true monster truck. • Nitro methane is an organic compound. • It can be used for explosives • Racing sports have been using nitro meathane as an extremely potent racing fuel. • A 3.3 racing engine.

  14. Thanks for watching • This experiment was fun! • I learned a lot about all kind of gases for cars • Also a lot about traxxes cars! • Thanks for watching!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and listening)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
