  4. A. While connected to your university’s network, go to Speakeasy test your speed against servers in Seattle, New York City, and Atlanta. Compute your average upload and download speeds. SEATTLE:             Download speed:  2.81 Mbps             Upload speed:        1.19 Mbps NEW YORK:             Download speed:  4.13 Mbps             Upload speed:        2.15 Mbps ATLANTA:             Download speed:  3.55 Mbps             Upload speed:        2.08 Mbps

  6. B. Go home, or to a public wireless site, and run the Speakeasy test again. Compute your average upload and download speeds. Compare your speed to those listed in the table. If your performancing this test at home, are you getting the performance you are paying for?   8. Compare the results in parts a, b, c. What conclusion, if any, can you make from these tests? • To sum up, this experiment showed us that internet speed is determined by several factors. It is not something that can be calculated just by bandwidth, or server speed. Different locations have different levels of Internet speed performance depending on the hardware they utilize, their location, and how much traffic is on them at any given time. The class book made me become more familiar with many of the fancy sounding terms that are associated with the Internet. After studying them, we are pleased to say that I am no longer lost in a conversation about dial-up speeds, and DNS servers.
