  1. IDEAS FOR MUSIC MAGAZINE

  2. KERRANG The colours used for this cover, stand out clearly, they contrast with the colours of the muse band members, which again shows them as the main subject. Underneath the name of the band, is a tagline ‘unstoppable rise of Britain's biggest band!’ this shows the magazine supporting the Muse and selling them in the best light possible. The layout is straight forward yet has a lot going on, shows a lot of content. KERRANG- this music magazine is so well known that the masthead does not have to be shown as presented in this magazine. The faces of the band muse are the main subject in this picture displaying that the muse is the main idea this magazine is talking about. Kerrang includes commercials shown at the top and bottom of this cover.

  3. VIBE This magazine looks like its audience would be early teens + which is shown from the vibrant, simple, formative cover. VIBE has presented Kanyepositively my displaying him commercially ‘50 greatest songs’. Like the other magazines, they all use the same colour techniques to attract their audience which are 3 different colours contrasted. Kanye is using a dominant pose, which shows not aggression but authority in a way that portrays him in a masculine and dominant light. • Like kerrang, VIBE does not show its headmast as it is clearly well known enough. This layout is much more straight forward with a central photo of Kanye West, showing as the main subject. On the right side there are small cell lines, giving insight to other stories inside. The vibrant colours pink and blue, express the headmastVIBE perfectly. They also contrast with Kaynes top which conveys his music in a positive light.

  4. BLENDER BLENDER- this issue is bright and eye-catching, its contrast of black, white and pink draw you in to all the cell lines and to the main subject portrait of Katy Perry. I really like this title of this magazine because it shows its for a young generation, which is very appealing to me and who I want my audience to be for my own music magazine. The layout of this cover is simple yet unique, the photo draws you in from the striking pose, suggestive look and the way she looks like she’s staring at the reader. This photo attracts female audience because although its suggestive, its like a role model for women not men. The black and pink text stand out because its on a white background which makes it easier to read.
