Conference Program Board • The Conference Program Board (CPB) is a new board established in 2003 to oversee the planning, organization and implementation of the National Conference. • CPB members include representatives from Headquarters, Professional Members, Student Members, Corporate Partnership Council and Local Section Hosts • The CPB works closely with Headquarters on the many planning phases of the conference.

  3. CPB Core Processes • Strategic Planning • Conference Program Planning • Includes conference session sourcing and selection • Conference Assessment and Measurement

  4. CPB Big Audacious Goal • Provide “Gold Standard” Conference

CPB Strategic Goals • By 2008, Recognized as the Gold Standard of Conferences • Increase Conference Attendance to 6000 by 2009 • Develop Programming Strategy that Supports 4-Year Attendance Growth • Increase # of Return Attendees by X% in 4 Years • Increase Conference Budget Overage by 5% Annually

  6. 2005 SWE Conference • Format • The Conference will include many different formats to enable interaction among the participants, provide continued growth for attendees, and engage in dialogue with SWE’s corporate partners • Presentations • Workshops and seminars • Technical papers • Career Enhancement Series training (CEU) • Panel presentations • Tours • Local community outreach events • Audience • Conference elements will be tailored to a diverse set of attendees Students and recent graduates Emerging technical leaders Experienced technical professionals Technical leaders, managers and educators Executives and entrepreneurs
