RAF9038 Final Coordination Meeting Status of progress with implementing the national self-assessment of the regulatory infrastructure for safety: • Status of the first life cycle • Response completed (4 weeks/ 1 November 2013) • Analysis completed (1 week / 27 November 2013) • Action plan completed (28 November 2013) • Scope of Self-Assessment: • Various modules were selected, answered and analysed with SAT. • Core Questions were selected for first cycle with SARIS

RAF9038 Final Coordination Meeting Project outputs and outcomes: • Findings • Value of the analysis process. • Huge amount of subsidiary questions that unfold. • Difficulty in planning processes due to hidden questions. • Benefits • Team work and cooperation within organisation. • Learning provided for new staff during answering and analysis.

RAF9038 Final Coordination Meeting Improvements to regulatory infrastructure: • Implementation of improvements to the regulatory framework • The areas identified in the analysis to date and with SAT were used as planning objectives • The SAT answering and analysis cycles identified areas that have been addressed. • Changes made in activities / organisation / functioning of the Regulatory Body • Revision of the staff structure. • Development of guidance documents.

Results of actions implemented to date • Better systematic and coordinated approach to correct shortcomings. • Overall improvement of performance of the Authority. • Improvements planned • Further implement other modules. • Implement the findings of SARIS. • Others • Peer Review missions undertaken

  8. RAF9038 Final Coordination Meeting Other project benefits: • Training courses • Arrange for further exposure of all staff to training events and visits to other Authorities. • Meetings • Arrange for meting with other Regulators to learn from their experiences.
