  2. History • Eastern Engineering Company was established almost 70 years ago by D. Ramanna, one of the earliest graduates of VJTI Mumbai . The company is well known in the field of engineering and textile machinery. We have offices across the country along with trained electronic and mechanical service engineers. We have partnerships with global companies vastly experienced in the planning and management of projects in infrastructure, healthcare and renewable energy. May 2011

  3. In the RE sector in particular our activity is two pronged : we have equipment to offer for module making and we have technology and expertise for PV, CSP solar power plants too. E.T.S. S.p.A of Italy is a leading turnkey solutions provider. They provide design, engineering and technical support and services for projects across several sectors including solar farms and biomass production units apart from other infra related areas such as buildings and hospitals. Together with them we have established a joint venture company, ETS Eastern Services P Ltd that will offer project developers the scope to select such technologies as may be suited to their requirement or simply avail of our expertise in design and planning. During mid 2010, we installed a rooftop 2 KW solar power system with dual trackers at our premises in Bangalore. We used modules from a a fully integrated supplier who have their own ingot and wafer plant. We planned to system with a full battery bank to withstand 3 cloudy days and a 5KW inverter ensured that the entire premises used only solar power. The system has the flexibility to allow a switch from array to grid as needed. May 2011

  4. Our range of products for Solar power also include : • EWO is a leading producer of luminaires for various purposes. One of their latest developments alongwith a consortium is a highly efficient and flexible solution for public and street lighting incorporating solar energy • Xeliox concentrators based on their patented technology for making rigid aluminium parabolic concentrators using a sandwich structure of two aluminium sheets bonded to a trapezoidal corrugated core. 5. For Module Plant : • J.Zimmer of Austria who are widely known in the textile machinery industry for their expertise in printing equipment also have a solar division where they produce high performance  tabber-stringer machine for pv cells down to 120 microns with a single stringer at 800 cells per hour and a double stringer working at 1600 cells per hour . The well-tested infrared  soldering  process guarantees precision soldering of solar cells within a stable, monitored process window. Cells are handled with sensitive care and through profiled temperature curves and time curves, stress is reduced to a minimum. The machine forms an invaluable part of a top PV Module Manufacturing setup. • Ferrari Ventilatori of Italy produce high efficiency axial and centrifugal fans for a variety of applications across various industries including turbines used by power plants. They are the only company whose fire fans are certified to withstand temperatures of upto 400 deg C for upto two hours. Ferrari is today a strategic partner in many segments with a wide product range, particularly for high pressure fans where pneumatic transportation is involved. Ferrari has become a reference brand for industrial fans , as they produce fans upto 45,000 Pa, with flow upto 200 m3/sec . May 2011

  7. EWO - CORLIGHT Core value: lighting technology May 2011

  8. Technology LED technology from cor light is based upon a modular concept and the module can be configured in many variations. The specific lighting requirements determine the respective number of lighting units deployed. With this, it is possible to fine tune the performance in stages - and it can be ensured that the system only consumes the amount of energy actually required to meet the directives.A further advantage of the modular construction is that only parts of the system needs to be replaced in the case of a partial fault. May 2011

  9. Technology -2 LED technology from cor light is based upon a modular concept and the module can be configured in many variations.Depending upon the application, various refractive optics with specific distribution of light are available. LEDs with various output categories and different light colours can be fitted. The mounting profile is also available in various forms. The modular construction is standardised and prepared for the development of LED technology.Market demands and participation in the development stages of the LEDs or longterm security in retrofitting have already been adopted into the solution. Main focus was attached to maximum outlines in respect of mechanical retrofitting, emission characteristics and electrical interface. May 2011

  10. All requirements of the EN 13201 standard are fulfilled up to highest classification. The unusually high optical surface of the refractive optics permits the highly-precise direction of light with the lowest degree of wastage and a minimal dazzling effect. Depending upon the application, several varying refractive optics with adapted beaming characteristics can be selected. Operation is extremely easy and the lighting unit can be used immediately. All components required such as cooling and protection are already incorporated in the product. The lighting unit can be used like a conventional lamp. Technology -3 May 2011

  14. Showcase Projects London-based architectural practice dRMM is extending the Modern Art Oxford building by converting a side entrance and generating a comprehensively adaptable room for exhibitions, installations and events. The new entrance to the museum opens the building to the street and the city. There are transparent areas in the entrance which arises to the ceiling level and the entrance door which can be opened to the top provides a free view into the inside of the gallery. The concept of the room as an installation is intended to arouse the curiosity and interest of passers by. An initial contribution was made by Richard Woods with work upon the bar, arrangement and design of the entrance door. The basic lighting reacts in accordance with the diverse use of the room and lighting units from cor light are arranged along the side walls, providing a distribution of light that can be matched to the respective scenario. May 2011

  15. Showcase Projects – 2 In the course of redesigning a central public area at Castelrotto in Italy, architect Hannes Mahlknecht is using a targeted way to also provide night-time illumination. In this case, the plan is supported by a lighting system that provides an optimal adaptation to the project-specific requirements. The luminaires feature various lighting units, thus generating predefined light colour, light intensity and light distribution to the respective areas of the project. The design of the luminaires as well as the lighting technology upon which they are based is uniform and the various parameters are exclusively regulated by the respective configuration of the lighting units in use. In this way a simple, formal and technically-consistent solution generates a large number of various lighting scenarios that the architect Mahlknecht arranges into a harmonious overall setting May 2011

  16. Showcase Projects - 3 The port of Venice is seeking to implement sustained development of its structures. LED technology high-mast systems by cor light contribute towards this objective by a reduction in energy consumption of over 80%.Apart from illuminating some 75,000 m² of the central handling area with 11 high mast systems, cor light technology is also being used for the illumination of the secondary areas that account for 15,000 m².Within the course of this project, some 2,600 type DP 31 lighting units were fitted and the configuration of the lighting units as defined by the planner TiFS Ingegneria covers 9 CREE XP-G type high performance LEDs with a luminous flux of 139 rm/LED in the light colour Cool White (6,000 K). The light management system in use and the consequent possibility of optimised light control contributes to a further significant reduction in energy consumption. May 2011
