  2. Declaration of Conformity (DoC) Effective January 19, 2002: • CP-01: “Certification Procedure for Terminal Equipment” - withdrawn • DC-01: “Procedure for Declaration of Conformity and Registration of Terminal Equipment” - in force

  3. DoC Procedure • Submission to Industry Canada • DoC based on test results • Registration request • Registration fee • Industry Canada action • Review for completeness • Register TE in the Terminal Equipment List • Acknowledgement to Declaring Party • Declaring Party can then distribute the TE in the Canadian market

  4. DoC Requirements • Testing performed by recognized testing laboratories • All TE models require registration • Compliance folder to be retained for 10 years and provided to IC on demand • Marking • Registration Number • Model number • REN and compliance notice • Provide a representative in Canada

  5. DoC Auditing • Industry Canada may: • Request copy of compliance folder • Conduct audits • Request re-testing of the TE • Representative in Canada • Answers inquiries • Provides samples to IC on demand

Self-marking • Self-Marking of the Certification/ Registration Number on Terminal Equipment – Application Procedure and Agreement • For previously certified TE, self-marking is an alternative to IC label • Self-marking mandatory • When DoC is used • For certificate holders as of January 1, 2003 • Fee per mark same as fee per IC label (Existing Fee Order) applies to all products marked

Self-marking (Cont’d) • Self-marking agreement • Requests for Self-Marking • Accurateproduction records to be submitted to IC every 6 months for review. • Registration number format • IC: Company No.- Unique Product No. (UPN) • Company No. assigned by IC • UPN assigned by declaring party • One format for TE registration # and radio equipment certification #

  8. Self-marking (Cont’d) • Future Plan • Eliminate fee per unit marked and replace it by a one-time registration fee through a new Fee Order • Eliminate the requirement for a self-marking agreement • Incorporate the marking requirements in DC-01
