  2. Photo: Wahlstedt Ill: Anna Käll Man’s best friend, the Dog, comes in a great variety of shapes in many different breeds from all around the world. But, has selection towards breeds suited for societal needs changed the dog from what it once was? The Dog Mentality Assesment is a Swedish behavioural test in which the dog’s reaction is described in ten different situations. More information about the test can be found at www.sbk.nu WE played significantly (p=0.005) more compared to the EA breeds. EA also showed different behavioural dimensions than those that have been showed in the WE breeds! Ill: Anna Käll Conclusion Domestication has lead to more playful, dependent and morphologically similar breeds, decreasing the importance of breed specific traits. The dog’s behaviour was tested in ‘the Dog Mentality Assesment’ and measurements were taken from the dog’s body. WE breeds showed a higher conformity in their basic morphology compared to the variation seen within EA breeds! Photo: Wahlstedt
