VSM-2 consists of 21 routes (41 with feeder service) , 11 of which do not have regular flight connection . Average trip length ~800 km Ufa 1.2 Chelyabinsk SOURCE: working group analysis

  4. ATTRACTION ZONES FOR PROSPECTIVE MAINLINES AND VHSM In the result of VHSM launching Russia can take a strategic place on the new transit route from Asia to Europe China’s long term plans include the construction of the largest VHSM network - “Silk Way” – that will connect Europe with the Far East. At present, China holds talks with 17 countries the territory of which the VHSM network is to cross. 2 possible VHSM routes: Option 1: through Kazakhstan and Russia. Thus, VHSM construction will give Russia an advantage over other countries in world trade flow. Option 2: through India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey and further through Istanbul to Europe. Option 2 Option 1
