Discovering Uranus: The Seventh Planet of Our Solar System

Uranus, the seventh planet from the Sun, has a diameter of 51,118 km, making it four times larger than Earth. Located 1.8 billion miles away, Uranus is a cold, gas giant with no solid surface, comprising an atmosphere rich in methane and helium that gives it a striking blue color. With temperatures dropping as low as -353°F, it's certainly a chilly place! Uranus boasts 27 moons and is known for its unique magnetic field. Join us in our mission to gather samples and learn more about this fascinating planet!

  2. Size • Uranus is a pretty big planet! • The diameter is 51,118 km across, 4x earth! • So basically, were Uranus wimps

  3. Location in the solar system • Uranus is 1.8 billion miles from the sun • It’s the seventh planet in the solar system • Far, right?

  4. Surface composition • Uranus is a gas planet • So, it has no land, just gas • And the core isn’t hot , it’s rocky

  5. Atmosphere • The atmosphere is made out of methane , and helium. • The methane gas in the atmosphere absorbs red light and reflects blue light. • the atmosphere is thicker than earths!

  6. Temperature • Uranus is pretty cold! • You might want to bring some blankets! • The highest it can be is -353 degrees Fahrenheit! • The lowest… • -337 degrees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! • That’s pretty cold!

  7. Fun Facts • Uranus has 27 moons • It has a magnetic field that causes radio waves • If a rocket ship took a trip to Uranus from Earth, it would take 405 Earth years! • It’s best if you take a satellite

  8. Our Mission • Our mission is to take samples of Uranus and send data back to earth

  9. Response Question • Now time for the response question • What is Uranus's number in the solar system? • You get three seconds to remember • 3 • 2 • 1 • What is it? • Yes! Number 7!

  10. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! • THANK U FOR WATCHING OUR POWER POINT!!!!
