Courses • 19 Different Courses offered through TEC • 14 Undergraduate & 5Graduate • 3 specific for LLC students • Focus of courses: • Overview of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Guest Lectures • Projects • Legal, Marketing, Finance, Venture-Funded Startups • ~1,000 students take courses annually

  6. Why Take TEC Courses? • Build skill sets necessary to be entrepreneurial or intrapreneurial • Network opportunities • Receive a certificate • Resume builder to show narrow focus and commitment to learning/honing skills

PROGRAMS • ~5,000 student participants annually • SocialFuse(March TBD) • a pitching and networking event that brings students, faculty and community together and fuses them through skills, ideas, and entrepreneurial ambition • Illinois Innovation Prize (Nominations due Feb 14th) • awarded on an annual basis to the most innovative student on campus • Cozad New Venture Competition (Intent to Compete Due Feb 7th) • designed to encourage students to create new businesses and offers teams assistance in the form of mentors to help guide them through the phases of venture creation, workshops to help with idea validation, pitching skills

  11. COZAD NEW VENTURE COMPETITION 2015-2016 • 16th year; Campus-wide • Historically • ~$160K in FUNDING and prizes • Spans 4 months • 2015 winners: PSYONIC & FlipWord

EXPERIENCES • Silicon Valley Student Workshop • Early January, with 25-30 students • Visit alumni tech companies in Silicon Valley • ThinkChicago Workshops • Students take a tour of Chicago’s fast-growing tech scene • Partnership with the City of Chicago, World Business Chicago and 1871 • iVenture Accelerator (applications due Feb 10) • An educational accelerator for the top student startups • Provides startups with co-working space, funding, expertise, and access to resources and alumni. • Innovation Living Learning Community • Located in Illinois Street Residence Hall • Partnership between TEC and Housing • 200 students
