  2. World Weather Watch Programme (3.1.0.1) WMO • Reaffirmed that the WWW continues to be the backbone Programme of WMO • WWW should provide a fundamental contribution to all WMO priority areas, namely, GFCS, DRR, WIGOS/WIS, Capacity Building and Aeronautical Meteorology.

World Weather Watch Programme Structure (annex) WMO • Three Key components: • Global Observing System (GOS) Doc. 3.1(1) • Global Telecommunication System (GTS) • Global Data-processing and Forecasting System (GDPFS), • Two support programmes • WWW Data Management (WWW/DM) • WWW System Support Activity (WWW/SSA) • Four Incorporating programmes: • Instruments and Methods of Observation Programme (IMOP) • Emergency Response Activities (ERA) programme • WMO Antarctic Activities (WMOAA) programme • Works closely with the Tropical Cyclone Programme (TCP)

World Weather Watch Programme (3.1.0.2) WMO • Fiftieth anniversary (2013) of WWW should provide opportunity to further strengthen public awareness of this unique Programme of WMO: • invited Secretary-General to make necessary arrangements; • encourage Members to provide the necessary resources. • Stressed the need to mobilize resources for strengthening the WWW, especially in developing countries.

World Weather Watch Programme (3.1.0.3) WMO • WWW continues to provide an effective mechanism for the application of developments in science and technology in operations of NMHSs & co-ponsored programmes. • opportunities new science and technologies offer the WWW • encouraged continued working with the private sector • ensure that support for the WWW Programme reflects the highest priority
