Enduring Love: not the most appropriate title • Debatable whether Jed actually loves Joe – arguably, the ‘love’ Jed feels for Joe has to be endured by Joe. • Clarissa and Joe appear to fall out of love with each other. At times, Clarissa appears to endure Joe rather than actually love him. • Joe endures Clarissa’s enduring love affair with John Keats.
