Benefits of a ‘bespoke’ IFAD space Because it is within our control (hosting, design, functionality, administration): • It cannot be taken offline unexpectedly • It is structured around our operational needs • We can build connections between it and other corporate tools/stores (e.g. RIMS) • There are no issues of blending personal and professional personas

What information can you find? • Region, Country and Project sites • Thematic Communities & Working Groups (coming very soon) • ‘About’ sections • Sharing – to social media & via eNewsletters(creation, list management & sending) Profiles & Lists • Searchable project list • Searchable people list • Project/country/region teams • Personal Profile pages • Coming Soon – Community list, Organization profiles & list

  6. Between sites – the top Navigation Projects: Choose to navigate to project list page, and select any project Profile: Your own name, and a link to your personal profile page. Please take the time to fill it in! Simple and Advanced Search: Find any content you like Countries: Choose to navigate to any country site Region: currently just Asia & Pacific, but soon we hope other regions will join

  7. Within a site = the second navigation Development Themes: Apply a thematic filter to all site content (Will soon be simplified!!) Projects & Programmes: Only in Regional and Country sites. Search through all the projects which are in a geographic area About: Added by the site host, this section can have multiple sub-pages and is an opportunity to read more about Country Programmes or Projects People: Find who are the key region, country or project contacts, and also search the wider community Community: Navigate to all content which has been added by site members

  8. The 7 Types of User-generated content Events: What’s happening. Missions, workshops, conferences, meetings Discussions: Multiple conversations. Questions and answers Images: Photos or diagrams Videos: Embedded videos. Documentaries, interviews. Resources: Useful documents and weblinks. Either uploaded or bookmarked News: Objective content. What’s going on, who’s doing what, links to outside news Blogs: Subjective content. Opinion pieces, interviews, case studies, reviews, experiences

  9. Search within content type • Search only within the current content type of the current site Add your own content (you only see this if you are logged in and a member of the current site Search by title, keywords and author

  10. Filtering within Resources & Events Both Resources and Events can be viewed in different ways: • Resources – can be viewed normally, only documents you have added and also by ‘Collections; (similar to folders) • Events – can be viewed as list (default), or by weekly or monthly calendar)
