  2. Five reasons to play with clay • fun and fulfilling activity, can provide benefits to emotional life; • stimulates imagination; • clay like water and sand has a natural appeal.   3. Place: Testing the tool “Who am I and what is my way” was performed in Riga Iļģuciems Women Prison on Tuesday, June 7rd, from 2 pm to 4 pm. Participants: 10 participants were assigned to participate, all 10 came. Participants were females, aged 17 to 45. Trainers:Test was led by 2 trainers. Materials:20 pieces of A4 format cardboard pad (3 mm thick), bowl with water, shaping tools, plastic film for covering tables, 10 kg clay (1 kg for each participant). Ilgums:1 hour 30 minutes for creating pieces of clay and for filling forms and surveys. Testing place and participants

  4. Assessment 1. step The trainers read loudly to the women the Declaration of Self-Esteem by Virginia Satir, particularly emphasizing that each of participant is unique and special. 2. step 1. First piece of art The participants were asked to create from clay first art work, which would reflect current feelings of themselves in this particular moment of life – “Who am I?” 2. Second piece of art Participants were asked to create the second art work, reflecting whom they want to be, how they would like to feel. Training

  5. What is the message you wanted to deliver with your clay work? • Reveal inner world, thoughts, feelings, current mood, emotions, my capability to create something beautiful and share my plans on future. Assessment

  6. What were the feelings and emotions during creation of these pieces of art? • Reflected on images in past, remembered my childhood; • pleasant, never worked with clay before; • inner reflection; • emptiness; • good, bright, happy feelings; • relief and interesting; • it is nice to do something, what you usually do not do; • during the creation of second art work I felt delighted, because of knowing I will be able to love again; • felt exalted.   7. What were the feelings and emotions after their completion? • Positive emotions. • Lovely, it turned out, if I want, then I can. • Satisfaction. • Felt good. • Delighted on achieved. • Feel satisfied with myself. Assessment
